Jenifer is the General Manager of the Pawn Shop of Ventura. After acquiring her BA from Cal State San Marcos, Jenifer relocated to Ventura in April 2006 to work for her grandfather, who purchased the Pawn Shop of Ventura from the previous owner in 2003. As a 4th generation Pawnbroker, Jenifer has learned a lot from her grandfather and plans to continue her family’s legacy. Jenifer is a Certified Diamond Grader from the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and hopes to have her full Gemologist certification in the near future. As the General Manager, Jenifer is responsible for overseeing all production functions of the business. She coordinates the development of key performance goals and company sales goals, as well as, oversees implementation of policies and procedures. A major part of her job involves leading and directing key managers to pursue targeted goals and company objectives and to ensure Company Mission Statement is followed and Company Standards are met in order to deliver the best product and customer service experience.
Gabriel is the Pawn Manager of the Pawn Shop of Ventura. Gabe is the backbone of the Pawn Shop of Ventura and has been with the business since it’s opening in 1993. Having worked for the previous owner at his Pet Shop, it was a natural transition for Gabe and he seems to have found his calling in the pawn shop industry. Gabe has taken the time to get to know a vast majority of our customers and he is well known by the locals. His interests include collecting records, going to the Opera, listening to good music, and shopping at one of the many great local thrift stores. Gabe brings a vast array of knowledge to the business and enjoys interacting with the customers. You’ll find him overseeing the pawn counter, negotiating sales with customers, and supervising the rest of the team.
Mario is the Sales Manager of the Pawn Shop of Ventura. Mario joined our team back in November 2006 and brings over 35 years of knowledge in fine jewelry and watches, as well as musical instruments, coins and antiques. He helps customers and assists them in both our loan and sales department. Some of his responsibilities include merchandising, creating displays, and maintaining inventories, as well as supervising sales staff. He has the ability to build relationships with customers that result in return business and referrals. In his spare time, Mario loves to spend time with his family, work around the house, tend to his gardens or watch a good movie. Mario is a dedicated family man and hopes to one day retire with his beautiful wife and play with his future grandkids.
Gonsalo is a graduate of local Ventura High and came to work at the Pawn Shop of Ventura in January 2013 and has secured himself as a very valuable member of our team ever since. Gonsalo quickly advanced to our Team Lead as he earned the trust, respect and admiration of the company’s leadership. Gonsalo works directly with our staff, clients and management to ensure our customer satisfaction is 100% at every turn. His continual goal to our clients is a consistently clean, friendly, welcoming environment. He is also our responsible for our Instagram page that provides our customers with news and information about our upcoming events and sales, along with giving our customers a quick glimpse on merchandise that is new to our sales floor. Gonsalo has learned the business well, has trained employees through the years and is very knowledgeable in fine jewelry, reflected by consistent client satisfaction, as he brings a professionally tailored approach to assist clients in finding just the right piece. You will most likely find Gonsalo as one of the first people to greet you as you walk in the door. In his spare time, he enjoys riding his bike, playing the bass guitar, listening to music, hanging out with his family and his beloved nieces. One of his favorite bands is FartBarf.
Tucker oversees all things musical. He also graduated from local Ventura High and joined our team in June 2015. Tucker is a very talented musician and specializes in the drums. You will most commonly find him at the guitar counter restringing a guitar or chatting up some of the local musicians that frequent our shop. In his spare time, Tucker enjoys playing the drums and guitar, producing music, listening to music, skateboarding, and hanging with friends and family. Some of his favorite bands are Duke Ellington, Clipping., Frank Zappa, FartBarf, Fortet, Burial, and Grant Green. Tucker hopes to one day be able to travel the world playing music and expand his knowledge of making/designing/repairing musical instruments.
